Archived Election Details

A special election for the North-Linn Community School District, in the County of Delaware, State of Iowa, will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2024.  Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.  

Pre-Election Day voter registration, for this election, will close Monday, August 26, 2024 at 4:30 p.m.  It is highly recommended that those persons wishing to vote in this election pre-register on or before the August 26th deadline.  Eligible persons have the right to register to vote and cast a ballot on Election Day if they are able to provide proof of both their identity and residency at the polls.  Please bring a valid and current photo ID which has an expiration date.  If the address on your ID is not current, you will need to prove residency.  The following documents can be used as proof of residency if they contain your name and current address, and are current within 45 days:  Residential lease, utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, government check or other government document, or a property tax statement (current within 45 days of final payment date).

Pre-registered voters are now required to provide an approved form of identification at the polling place before receiving and casting a regular ballot.  Voters who are not pre-registered (such as voters registering on Election Day, and voters changing precincts), must also provide proof of their identity and residency.  Voters who are unable to provide an approved form of identification (or prove residence if required), may have their identities attested to by another registered voter in the precinct who is able to provide proof identity, or have the right to cast a provisional ballot.  Election Day registrant attesters must also provide an approved form of identification.  For additional information about providing proof of identity and/or residency, you may visit the Secretary of State’s website at: https://sos.iowa.gov/voterid, or contact the Delaware County Auditor’s Office at (563) 927-4701.  

To request an absentee ballot, use the official form available at the Delaware County Auditor’s Office, Delaware County’s website at https://delawarecountyelections.iowa.gov or the Secretary of State’s website at www.sos.state.ia.us, and mail it to the Delaware County Commissioner of Elections, 301 E. Main St., Room 210, Manchester, Iowa 52057.  The last day to request an absentee ballot by mail is Monday, August 26, 2024 at 4:30 p.m.  

In person absentee voting is available at the Delaware County Auditor’s Office thru 4:30 p.m. on Monday, September 9, 2024.  The precincts and polling locations for the North-Linn Community School District for residents within Delaware County, Iowa will be as follows:

All Benton, Buchanan and Linn County qualified electors of the North-Linn Community School District should contact their County Auditor’s Office for absentee voting and election day polling locations.
