ACCEPTING AFFIDAVITS OF CANDIDACY FOR TRUSTEE POSITIONS

ALL LAKE DELHI RESIDENTS AND LAND OWNERS

On behalf of the Lake Delhi Combined Recreational Facility and Water Quality District Board of Trustees, the Delaware County Auditor’s Office is now accepting Affidavits of Candidacy for the following positions to be filled by election on Tuesday, July 21, 2026:

                                District Trustee (three (3) positions)                                        3 year terms

Any resident or property owner within the Lake Delhi Combined District interested in running for one of these positions must file a completed Affidavit of Candidacy with the Delaware County Auditor located within the Delaware County Courthouse at 301 E. Main St, Room 210, in Manchester, Iowa. 

The deadline for filing an Affidavit of Candidacy is Friday, June 12, 2026 at 4:30 pm.

Pre-Election Day Voter Registration

Pre-Election Day voter registration for this election will close Monday, July 6, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.  It is highly recommended that those persons wishing to vote in this election should pre-register on or before the July 6th deadline.  

Election Day Voter Registration

Eligible persons have the right to register to vote and cast a ballot on Election Day if they are able to provide proof of both their identity and residency at the polls.  Please bring a valid and current photo ID which has an expiration date.  If the address on your ID is not your current lake address, you will need to prove residency.  The following documents can be used as proof of residency if they contain your name and current lake address, and are current within 45 days:  Residential lease, utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, government check or other government document, or a property tax statement (current within 45 days of payment date).

Proof of ID

If you do not have an Iowa driver’s license, you may use a photo ID that is current, valid, and contains an expiration date. The following are acceptable IDs:

• Iowa non-operator ID
• Out-of-state driver’s license or non-operator ID
• U.S. passport
• U.S. military or veteran ID
• ID card issued by employer
• Student ID issued by Iowa high school or college
• Tribal ID card/document

Proof of Residence

If the address on your photo ID is not your current lake address, you may use another document (paper or electronic format) to prove where you live if it contains your name and current address and is current within 45 days. The following are acceptable proofs of residence:

• Residential lease
• Utility bill (including a cell phone bill)
• Bank statement
• Paycheck
• Government check or other government document
• Property tax statement (current within 45 days of final payment date)

Absentee Voting

• Absentee voting by mail, to request an absentee ballot for this election, use this absentee ballot request form Absentee Ballot Request Form    The absentee ballot request form is also available at the Delaware County Auditor's Office,  or at the Iowa Secretary of State’s website at  https://sos.iowa.gov/.  You must complete this form and mail it to the Delaware County Commissioner of Elections, 301 E. Main St., Room 210, Manchester, Iowa 52057.  The first day to request an absentee ballot is Tuesday, May 12, 2026. The first day ballots can be mailed to voters is Wednesday, July 1, 2026. The last day to request an absentee ballot by mail is Monday, July 7, 2025 at 5:00 p.m.
• Absentee voting In-person will be available at the Delaware County Auditor’s Office begining Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. through Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.  If you have any questions regarding this process, please contact the Delaware County Auditor’s Office at 563-927-4701.
• Curbside Absentee voting is available at the Delaware County Courthouse begining Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. through  Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. as well. Please contact the Delaware County Auditor's Office at 563-927-4701 if you would like to vote with this service. 

Poll Hours at St. John's Parish 

• Tuesday July 21, 2026 from 12:00 p.m. (noon) to 8:00 p.m.

The polling place designated for use in this election is accessible to persons with disabilities.  However, any voter who is physically unable to enter a polling place has the right to vote in the voter’s vehicle.
