The Trustee Election for the Lake Delhi Combined Recreational Facility and Water Quality District in Delaware County, Iowa will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2022. Polls will be open from 12:00 PM (noon) until 8:00 PM. The polling location will be as follows: St. John’s Parish Hall 303 South Street, Delhi

Pre-Election Day voter registration for this election will close on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.  It is highly recommended that those persons wishing to vote in this election pre-register on or before the July 5th deadline. 

 

Eligible persons have the right to register to vote and cast a ballot on Election Day if they are able to provide proof of both their identity and residency at the polls.  Please bring a valid and current photo ID which has an expiration date.  If the address on your ID is not your current lake address, you will need to prove residency.  The following documents can be used as proof of residency if they contain your name and current lake address, and are current within 45 days:  Residential lease, utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, government check or other government document, or a property tax statement (current within 45 days of final payment date).

 

Pre-registered voters are now required to provide an approved form of identification at the polling place before receiving and casting a regular ballot.  Voters who are not pre-registered (such as voters registering on Election Day, and voters changing precincts), must also provide proof of residence.  Voters who are unable to provide an approved form of identification (or prove residency if required), may have their identities attested to by another registered voter in the precinct, or have the right to cast a provisional ballot.  Attesters must also provide an approved form of identification.  For additional information about providing proof of identity and/or residency, you may visit the Secretary of State’s website at: https://sos.iowa.gov/voterid, or contact the Delaware County Auditor’s Office at 563-927-4701. 

 

To request an absentee ballot, use the official form available at the Delaware County Auditor’s Office, the Delaware County website at https://delawarecountyelections.iowa.gov, or the Secretary of State’s website at sos.iowa.gov, and mail it to the Delaware County Commissioner of Elections, 301 E. Main St., Room 210, Manchester, Iowa 52057.  The last day to request an absentee ballot by mail is Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at 5:00 p.m.  In-person absentee voting is available at the Delaware County Auditor’s Office thru 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2022. 

 

The polling place designated for use in this election is accessible to persons with disabilities.  However, any voter who is physically unable to enter a polling place has the right to vote in the voter’s vehicle.  For further information, please contact the Delaware County Auditor’s Office by phone at (563) 927-4701 or by e-mail at cbecker@co.delaware.ia.us.
